Let me introduce the newest member of the Wild About Birds staff - Patty is in charge of customer relations and she is responsible for enthusiastically greeting you as you walk in our front door. If the performance of her duties meets with the high standards you have come to expect from Wild About Birds� employees, then you can reward her with a treat from her cookie jar found on the cash register counter! Patty was adopted from Precious Secrets Sheltie Rescue in late 2001after we lost our beloved Kirbi to a devastating illness. Unlike Kirbi, Patty is not a typical Sheltie � she does not bark and is not particularly hyper � which is why she is able to come to work with me most afternoons. So, stop by soon and meet our Peppermint Patty.

Since this page was added to our website in early 2002, we've adopted another Sheltie from Precious Secrets. Zoey is an adorable 5 year old Sheltie who was a stray turned over to Precious Secrets in early February 2003. She joined our family about a month later. Unfortunately, we don't know Zoey's history but, based on her behavior, we suspect that she was living in an outdoor kennel producing puppies for someone! She is afraid of everything inside the house - lights, ceiling fans, TV, kitchen noises - so we have lots of socializing to do with her before she'll be able to come in to the shop and join her sister as an official greeter. We wanted to show you what she looks like so below is a picture of Zoey (on the left) and Patty on the couch - their couch, not ours!

Update: Zoey is doing great! She's very happy in her new home and she's even coming in to the shop now. She is still quite shy so she spends most of her time in the back room but occasionally runs out when the door bell rings and Patty goes out to greet a customer. Come on in and meet our newest employee - Zoey!
